Business Systems Analyst

Position overview

Analysis and requirements

• Research and analyze processes, applications, systems, and data to identify functional requirements and business relationships for designs.
• Build relationships with cross-functional groups to document common pain points and capability gaps.
• Facilitate workshops with program and customer stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather user requirements and identify solutions.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis with end-user groups and data scientists to understand data and its relationship to business operations.

Specifications and product support

• Work with product owners, portfolio leads, and technical teams to track issues and requests through completion.
• Translate high-level requirements into system specifications, including data models, integration points, APIs, and data processing needs.
• Define acceptance criteria and support user acceptance testing; maintain software, capability, and product catalogues for the military portfolio.
• Support production releases and post-deployment issue triage and collect user feedback.
• Maintain system documentation, training materials, and user manuals; provide training and demonstrations.

Required qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or Business Analyst using customer-facing software products within a medium-to-large enterprise.
• Experience using tools such as Confluence, Jira, Visio, or draw.io to document requirements, process flows, and data models.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve complex business problems.
• Must be eligible for Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program authorization assessment, able to obtain Canadian Secret Level II security clearance, and eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The employer does not sponsor employment visas.

Preferred qualifications

• An inquisitive approach, familiarity with data analysis concepts, and comfort working with structured datasets are preferred.
• SAP ERP knowledge and aerospace industry knowledge are assets.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, or equivalent experience, is preferred; the posting also lists 3+ years in a similar role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred.

Workplace

• The position is hybrid, with some work required onsite at a listed location; the hiring team determines onsite arrangements, which may change. The office location is Richmond, BC.

Compensation

• The stated salary range is CAD 81,000 to CAD 144,000; starting salary depends on post-secondary education, qualifications, and experience. No pay cadence is specified.
