Role overview
The Business Systems Analyst evaluates business processes, elicits requirements, and supports improvements and change.
The role works with business stakeholders, clients, development staff, architects, and programmers.
Core responsibilities
- Gather user requirements through interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, storyboards, use cases, and other methods.
- Analyze data and business requirements, identify priorities, and create data mapping and visualization documents.
- Prepare business cases, functional specifications, gap analyses, effort estimates, and process documentation.
- Assess vendor release notes and support business process redesign for product enhancements.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements and participate in technical solution design.
- Verify requirements and communicate analysis results to stakeholders and development teams.
Required qualifications
- Experience with IT development staff on complex projects and a strong technical background.
- Experience in requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills, including intermediate-to-advanced SQL queries and scripting.
- Experience in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid environments.
- Understanding of digital platforms, cloud applications, web services, server-side components, APIs, and REST and SOAP services.
- Experience with SoapUI and REST API clients; competency in Microsoft applications and advanced Excel.
- Strong documentation, communication, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate, influence stakeholders, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- MS Project experience is a plus.
Pay
- Pay is $50–$55 per hour.

- The position is described as hybrid remote in New Haven, Connecticut.
