Role and organization

What you will do

• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex Oracle and PostgreSQL SQL; translate reporting needs into reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
• Design and maintain data models, warehouses, and ETL/data integration processes; build BI solutions with Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or similar tools.
• Validate and reconcile data across systems and large relational datasets; gather client requirements, present solutions, and support delivery.
• Identify Ellucian APIs that meet business needs, understand returned data, and write the required integration code.
• Support API security, including authentication, authorization, tokens, scopes, and appropriately limited access.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and solution quality.

Required qualifications

• 4–7 years in BI, SQL development, reporting, data engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced SQL skills, including optimization, performance tuning, indexing, and execution plans; Oracle SQL and/or PostgreSQL experience.
• Strong data modeling skills in normalized 3NF and dimensional/star schemas; experience with warehouses and ETL/data integration.
• Hands-on Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or similar reporting tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Cloud data platforms and modern ETL/ELT tools; professional use of GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI tools.
• ERP, SIS, HRMS, or Finance system experience; higher-education technology or Ellucian exposure, including Banner, Colleague, ODS, or EDW, is a plus but not required.
• Ability to absorb a new domain quickly and contribute within two months.

Location and schedule

• Pune, India; hybrid work arrangement.
• Flexible schedule with a 3–4 hour US Eastern morning overlap Tuesday through Thursday; listed schedule is 2:00–10:00 PM IST.

Employment and compensation

• Full-time employment through SIG’s Employer of Record in India.
• Fixed base compensation is ₹29.5–₹33.3 lakh per year; final compensation may vary based on skills and location and will be mutually agreed.
