Business Intelligence & Data Analyst

Role overview and objectives

Student and training visibility

• Develop and maintain dashboards tracking student progression across all training phases.
• Provide visibility into at-risk students and escalation triggers.
• Support OCC and Training with progression tracking and intervention insight.

Resource and operational visibility

• Build dashboards for instructor, aircraft, and simulator utilization.
• Analyze capacity versus demand across scheduling horizons and identify underutilization, conflicts, and gaps.
• Support forward planning with data-driven insight.

KPI reporting and data systems

• Develop standardized KPI dashboards across departments and deliver concise, decision-ready leadership reporting.
• Support monthly and ad hoc reporting with clear performance insights.
• Extract, validate, and manage data from FlightLogger, Aeroplanned, Salesforce, and finance systems.
• Ensure platform consistency and accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support structured data environments and pipelines.

Collaboration and improvement

• Partner with Operations, Training, Scheduling, and Student Progress teams, linking systems, data, and operational information.
• Support continuous improvement and stakeholder adoption of dashboards and reporting tools.

Required qualifications

• Experience in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
• Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent BI tools, advanced Excel, and SQL with relational databases.
• Ability to manage and interpret data from multiple systems, maintain data accuracy, and translate data into operational insight.

Preferred qualifications

• Python for data processing, Power BI, or ETL experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS and understanding of GraphQL or an equivalent API query language are preferred.
• Operational or scheduling data experience and exposure to aviation, education, or regulated environments are preferred.

Tools and systems

• Systems include FlightLogger, Aeroplanned, Salesforce, LMS and ground-school platforms, e-signature tools, and Microsoft Office, including SharePoint.
• Reporting tools include Power BI and Excel for dashboard development, analysis, data validation, and modeling.
• Data tools include SQL and relational databases; Python may be used for data processing and ETL workflows, and GraphQL is listed.

Education and safety

• A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is listed; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Uphold safety and compliance standards across global operations and ensure regional HR practices reflect aviation regulatory requirements.
