Business Intelligence Analyst

Position summary

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market, competitive, business, customer, supplier, product, and operational research.
• Gather information from multiple sources and assess its accuracy, reliability, and relevance.
• Identify inconsistencies, assumptions, and areas needing further investigation.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and insights.
• Prepare leadership summaries, reports, presentations, comparisons, and decision-support materials.
• Maintain research files, databases, project trackers, and information repositories.
• Support strategic projects, investigations, and initiatives led by senior leadership.
• Use Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AI tools, and research platforms to improve productivity and information management.
• Develop structured workflows for organizing and accessing information.
• Research emerging technologies and identify practical opportunities to improve business performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, analytics, research, operations, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Experience in business research, market analysis, consulting, business intelligence, operations, strategic planning, or related analytical roles.
• Exposure to manufacturing, industrial equipment, transportation, construction, municipal services, or related industries is preferred.
• Experience supporting executive leadership teams with research, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Can objectively evaluate information, distinguish facts from assumptions, and identify inconsistencies or gaps.
• Experience with digital tools and information systems; SharePoint, Power BI, data visualization, research platforms, or executive reporting is an asset.
