Position Summary
A prestigious, European-headquartered international TIC organization, member of a major global safety, quality, and inspection group with a well-established infrastructure in the Middle East, is seeking a highly motivated, result-driven Business Development Manager ).
The successful candidate will drive commercial growth, market penetration, and strategic brand expansion for international trade verification and certification services across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
This role is embedded within the group's existing corporate infrastructure in Dubai.
The BDM will operate with a high degree of autonomy to build a robust portfolio of clients, identify new business opportunities, and generate pipelines for services executed globally by our International Brand Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Penetration & Prospecting: Aggressively map the UAE market to identify, approach, and secure new business opportunities within the B2B commercial sector, international trade, and IGO/NGO streams
- Trade Hub Penetration: Actively develop business and build a strong corporate presence within key UAE trade hubs and economic zones, including but not limited to JAFZA, DAFZA, KIZAD, and Dubai South
- Pipeline Generation: Develop a robust and sustainable commercial pipeline by targeting high-volume traders, exporters, manufacturers, and logistics providers in the region
- Service Promotion: Position and sell core trade-facilitation services, including Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI), Product Conformity Assessments (PCA), testing coordination, and specialized certification schemes (Commodities, Agri-Food, and Green Energy/Sustainability)
- Client Engagement: Proactively re-engage with regional trade networks, re-establishing trust and expanding the group's active market share
- Tender & RFQ Management: Identify and lead the response to localized tenders and Request for Quotations (RFQs), coordinating technical and pricing requirements directly with International Brand Headquarters
- HQ Collaboration: Act as the primary local commercial representative, ensuring that all client pricing, official contracting, and certification issuance are seamlessly routed through central operations
- Compliance & Ethics: Execute all business development activities in strict alignment with the Group Anti-Corruption Code, Code of Ethics, and international trade sanction laws
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: University degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of proven business development or commercial sales experience strictly within the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) industry in the UAE/GCC region
- Network of Contacts: Must possess an active, verified network of contacts ("Black Book") among major UAE-based exporters, commodity traders, and shipping/logistics companies
- Mobility: Must possess a valid UAE driving license and have access to a registered vehicle for frequent client visits across the Emirates
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of international supply chains, import/export regulations, trade facilitation, and governmental conformity assessment mandates
- Mindset: A proven track record as a self-starter and a "sales hunter" with a history of meeting or exceeding aggressive individual sales targets
- Autonomy: Ability to operate independently within a matrix organization, managing reporting lines across local hosting structures and international brand headquarters
- Integrity: Uncompromising professional ethics and experience working within strict corporate compliance and risk assessment frameworks
- Languages: Fluent professional written and spoken English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is highly preferred and considered a major strategic asset
