Business Development Manager – SME Lending & Partnerships

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager – SME Lending & Partnerships will be responsible for originating financing opportunities, managing borrower relationships, and developing sourcing channels that generate high-quality SME financing opportunities.

The role requires a strong understanding of SME lending, commercial lending, relationship management, and ecosystem development.

The successful candidate will work closely with borrowers, referral partners, consultants, payment providers, marketplaces, business communities, and other ecosystem participants to drive sustainable growth for Fincobox.

Borrower Acquisition & Business Development

  • Identify, engage, and acquire SME borrowers requiring working capital and business financing solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified financing opportunities.
  • Conduct borrower meetings, needs assessments, and financing discussions.
  • Present and position suitable financing solutions based on borrower requirements.
  • Drive opportunities through the complete sales cycle from lead generation to disbursement.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for prospective and existing borrowers.
  • Develop long-term relationships with founders, business owners, finance teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Drive repeat utilization, renewals, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Ensure a high-quality borrower experience throughout the financing lifecycle.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients regarding working capital and funding requirements.

Partnership & Channel Development

  • Identify, develop, and manage partnerships that can generate qualified borrower opportunities.
  • Build relationships with:
  • Payment providers and payment gateways
  • POS and merchant service providers
  • Accounting and tax advisory firms
  • Business consultants and corporate service providers
  • Marketplace and e-commerce ecosystem partners
  • ERP and business software providers
  • Industry associations and SME communities
  • Referral partners, brokers, and DSA networks
  • Develop channel strategies that contribute to sustainable borrower acquisition.

Ecosystem Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify new borrower segments, industries, and financing opportunities.
  • Build relationships within the broader SME ecosystem to strengthen Fincobox's market presence.
  • Represent Fincobox at networking events, industry forums, and ecosystem engagements.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and evolving borrower requirements.

Deal Coordination & Internal Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with Credit, Risk, Operations, Product, and Management teams.
  • Assist borrowers in documentation, onboarding, and application processes.
  • Facilitate smooth progression of financing opportunities through underwriting and approval stages.
  • Maintain accurate records, pipeline updates, and activity tracking within CRM systems.

Preferred Experience

  • 3–6 years of experience in SME banking, fintech lending, NBFCs, trade finance, business banking, or B2B financial services.
  • Strong SME relationship management experience within the UAE market.
  • Proven track record in business development, borrower acquisition, and client relationship management.
  • Experience working with SME owners, founders, finance teams, and commercial decision-makers.
  • Exposure to lending products such as working capital finance, invoice financing, trade finance, business loans, merchant financing, or revenue-based financing is preferred.
  • Existing network within the UAE SME ecosystem will be an advantage.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Relevant banking, financial services, or lending certifications are an advantage.
