Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, and expanding GL Exhibitions’ presence across target industries and regions.
The Business Development Manager will conduct market research, develop sales strategies, prepare proposals, and lead negotiations to secure sponsorships, exhibitor contracts, and long-term partnerships.
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a sales pipeline, coordinating with event, marketing, and operations teams, attending industry events and meetings, and providing regular reporting and forecasts to leadership.
The role also requires contributing to revenue growth, enhancing client satisfaction, and supporting the continuous improvement of GL Exhibitions’ event offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong business development, sales, and account management skills, with a proven track record in generating new business and managing key client relationships.
- Experience in exhibitions, events, or related industries, with knowledge of B2B and B2E marketing, sponsorships, and exhibitor engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and close complex deals.
- Solid analytical, research, and strategic planning capabilities, including experience in market analysis, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, work in a fast-paced on-site environment, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business productivity tools (e.g., MS Office, online collaboration platforms).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience working in the Middle East or international markets is beneficial; fluency in English is required, and additional languages are a plus.
