Opportunity

Analysis and requirements

• Facilitate requirements gathering and business problem analysis, and recommend solutions based on identified business needs.
• Analyze business documents, data models, vendor information, use cases, business rules, scenarios, and data to identify functional and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct gap analyses and data mapping, and develop business process maps, flow charts, and supporting documentation.
• Document current- and future-state processes, identify automation opportunities, and recommend process improvements.
• Translate requirements into documentation and conceptual designs for process, data, and information-system changes.
• Develop mock-ups and clear user stories with expected outcomes and acceptance criteria.

Delivery and stakeholder support

• Report assigned business analyst activity throughout the system development lifecycle and review project artifacts against business needs.
• Work with QA and development teams on business data requirements, sample data, and test scenarios; review results, communicate findings, participate in bug reviews, and support testing.
• Coordinate application upgrades and rollouts, including end-user and stakeholder engagement during planning and implementation.
• Provide initial solution training when required and build product expertise as an internal subject matter expert.
• Represent the Product Owner or product stream when required; provide analysis and recommendations to business and technology stakeholders.
• Provide input on analyst resource needs, project allocation, and timelines, and build stakeholder relationships while delivering requirements on schedule.

Experience and education

• Requires 1–3 years of relevant experience in business analysis, systems analysis, requirements definition, or a related field.
• Requires a related college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Requires experience with business or systems analysis, requirements definition, and deployment of business requirements.
• Requires familiarity with Agile SDLC and traditional Waterfall approaches.

Skills and assets

• Requires strong analysis, problem-solving, organization, prioritization, initiative, communication, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.
• Requires the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, learn new systems, and apply business acumen and knowledge of technology concepts and data integrations.
• Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio or similar process-mapping tools.
• Tour operator, airline, or hotel systems experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of APIs, SQL, XML, JSON, and HTML is an asset.
• IIBA or similar Business Analysis certification, including CBAP, CCBA, or ECBA, is an asset.
