The engineer brings senior software engineering judgment and sets technical direction for architecture and stack.

The work spans .NET Framework and .NET Core codebases and production deployment assets.

Responsibilities

  • Own scheduled off-hours production releases for IIS web applications, Windows Services, and SQL Server changes.
  • Build CI/CD pipelines for lower-environment and production deployments; automate database schema, stored-procedure, and migration deployments.
  • Support branching and local development improvements; diagnose deployment issues across application, web, service, and database tiers.
  • Partner with cloud engineering to improve infrastructure and environments for reliable delivery.

Required experience

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering, including at least 2 years directly responsible for production deployments and supporting infrastructure.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and deciding where automation will improve fragile manual processes.
  • Hands-on .NET Framework and .NET Core development and deployment, including C# and VB.NET.
  • Windows Server and IIS configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting, including installing and upgrading Windows Services.
  • SQL Server release work involving schemas, stored procedures, and data migrations; strong deployment scripting, particularly PowerShell.
  • CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms; pipelines and infrastructure definitions treated as version-controlled, reviewed, testable code.
  • Automated deployment to auto-scaled machine-image compute fleets, including image builds, rolling replacement, health-check promotion, and rollback.
  • Availability to execute production releases during off-hours windows.

Preferred qualifications

  • AWS experience, especially Windows workloads on EC2 and AMI pipelines.
  • Ansible, Packer, or similar configuration management; SQL Server Data Tools and DACPAC familiarity.
  • Experience in a SOC 2 environment or healthcare and other regulated industries.

Benefits

  • Medical, vision, dental, short- and long-term insurance, employer-paid life insurance, and a 401(k) with employer contribution.
  • Paid holidays, 17 days of PTO, wellness incentives, employee recognition programs, and paid training.
