Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile all broker-dealer transactions, including equities, derivatives, bonds, and other financial instruments.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly financial reports related to trading activities, including profit and loss (P&L) and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure proper accounting of trading commissions, fees, and other related revenues and expenses.
• Reconcile clearing accounts and margin accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Perform valuations of securities and derivatives positions in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with the compliance and risk management teams to ensure all broker-dealer operations comply with financial regulations and internal controls.
• Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications on broker-dealer transactions and accounting practices.
• Assist in preparing tax filings related to trading activities and maintain accurate records of tax liabilities.
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and industry standards that may impact broker-dealer accounting practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve reporting processes and enhance operational efficiencies in trading activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in broker-dealer accounting or related roles in the financial services industry.
• In-depth understanding of broker-dealer operations, securities trading, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant financial reporting standards.
• Experience with accounting software, trading platforms, and financial systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters, ERP systems).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
• Fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
