The Bookkeeper/Office Manager will oversee company finances and contribute to office management.
The role is part time, on a flexible basis, ideally three days per week.
The employer currently uses Sage Accounting Standard and is open to migrating systems if the candidate can facilitate it.
Requirements
- Five years of office management experience, financial management experience and Sage 50 Accounting experience are each required.
- Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel, is mandatory, and a solid finance background is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and prior experience in a corporate environment are sought.
- Construction experience is advantageous rather than required.
- Some health and safety experience would be helpful but is not required; examples include risk assessments, method statements and Constructionline membership.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for in-person and telephone enquiries, screening and redirecting them professionally.
- Control purchase and sales ledgers, reconcile bank accounts, and complete VAT returns, payroll and CIS returns.
- Chase outstanding payments and retentions.
- Handle HR matters and manage the fleet.
- Communicate office-management matters to the wider team and assist with meetings, agendas and minutes.
- Manage office supplies.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is £21.00 per hour.
- Benefits include a company pension and free parking.
