Overview
The Global Risks Forum (GRF) is onboarding senior leaders in the United Arab Emirates to join the
National Councils of Nexus Consortium
- and help advance a new architecture for public-good risk management, resilience, innovation governance, and national stakeholder coordination.
- This invitation is intended for UAE-based and UAE-connected leaders in senior positions across government, public policy, diplomacy, sovereign and institutional capital, infrastructure, energy, climate, AI, advanced technology, finance, insurance, academia, media, civil society, philanthropy, industry, and institutional leadership.
- The UAE is a natural environment for this work: a country positioned at the intersection of global capital, advanced technology, infrastructure development, energy transition, climate leadership, logistics, trade, AI, finance, and international convening.
- Nexus Consortium aims to support leaders who can help translate that national capacity into structured portfolios in risk management, resilience, responsible innovation, and implementation readiness.
- Through Nexus Consortium, GRF works alongside The Global Centre for Risk and Innovation (GCRI) and The Global Risks Alliance (GRA) to help countries, institutions, companies, and communities connect stakeholder formation, public-good legitimacy, claims discipline, public-safe communication, risk intelligence, evidence, finance-readiness, and lawful implementation pathways.
- Nexus Consortium is being developed as an annual global arena for national risk and innovation portfolios: part national capability platform, part public-good coordination system, and part strategic environment for resilience leadership, responsible innovation, investment visibility, public trust, and globally relevant national portfolios.
- We are seeking leaders who can help:
- Shape national and thematic agendas for risk management, resilience, and responsible innovation
- Mobilize credible public, private, academic, civic, community, media, capital, and institutional stakeholders
- Strengthen public-good legitimacy, stakeholder trust, and public-safe communication
- Build cross-sector councils, working groups, and national leadership pathways
- Support UAE-linked portfolios for global visibility, development relevance, investment-readiness, and responsible implementation pathways
- Advance country-level coordination for annual global build programs and National Council activation
- As National Councils mature, high-contributing leaders may become eligible for nomination into future leadership roles, including National Council leadership, working group leadership, stakeholder council leadership, public-good initiative leadership, committee leadership, senior advisory roles, stewardship roles, and board consideration.
- The current onboarding phase is intended to build the leadership pool from which board members and senior leadership candidates may be nominated by the first half of 2027, subject to contribution, integrity, strategic fit, governance needs, eligibility review, conflict-of-interest review, and formal appointment processes.
- Leadership eligibility is earned through contribution.
- It is not automatic, purchased, promised, or guaranteed.
Requirements
- Current or recent senior leadership experience in a UAE-based, UAE-connected, regional, or international institution, sector, discipline, or national ecosystem
- Demonstrated credibility in risk management, resilience, governance, public policy, stakeholder engagement, public trust, innovation, finance, infrastructure, technology, or institutional development
- Ability to mobilize high-quality UAE, Gulf, regional, sectoral, civic, institutional, or thematic stakeholders
- Capacity to contribute to national agenda formation, stakeholder coordination, public-safe communication, portfolio development, or working group leadership
- Commitment to responsible claims, institutional integrity, public-good discipline, anti-capture safeguards, and lawful implementation boundaries
- Ability and willingness to become a member in good standing of the applicable National Council pathway for the 2026–2030 period
- This is a membership-based leadership pathway.
- Selected leaders must join the applicable council membership category before beginning formal council participation.
- Membership supports council coordination, onboarding, records, stakeholder engagement, national agenda development, working group formation, public-safe communication, annual build preparation, and leadership-pool administration.
- This pathway does not create employment, board appointment, public authority status, procurement authority, investment authority, certification, endorsement, public recognition, or execution authority.
- UAE leaders interested in helping build serious national, regional, and global capacity for public-good risk management, resilience, stakeholder trust, and responsible innovation are invited to submit an expression of interest.
