About This Role
Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled BMS / Controls / Fire Life Safety Engineer with Data Center construction experience to support the delivery of mission critical projects in Doha, Qatar.
The role will be responsible for overseeing BMS, controls integration, and Fire Life Safety systems throughout design review, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate BMS, EPMS, controls, and Fire Life Safety systems for Data Center construction projects
- Review design drawings, technical submittals, control philosophies, sequences of operation, and system integration requirements
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities for HVAC controls, BMS, fire alarm, smoke detection, suppression, and life safety systems
- Coordinate with MEP, commissioning, construction, and client teams to ensure seamless system integration and project delivery
- Support FAT, SAT, IST, and integrated systems testing activities
- Monitor contractor performance, progress, QA/QC compliance, and adherence to project specifications and safety standards
- Troubleshoot controls and system interface issues during construction and commissioning stages
- Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, NFPA standards, and Data Center operational requirements
- Support project documentation, reporting, punch list closure, and final handover activities
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in BMS, Controls, or Fire Life Safety systems within Data Center or mission critical construction projects
- Strong knowledge of BMS, EPMS, HVAC controls, Fire Alarm Systems, suppression systems, and integrated controls platforms
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, and system integration activities for mission-critical facilities
- Familiarity with NFPA, ASHRAE, and international Data Center standards
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project and commissioning teams
- Strong technical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Controls Engineering, or related discipline
- GCC experience is preferred
