As we integrate digital assets into our corporate treasury and explore tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), we require rigorous financial oversight to ensure transparency, compliance, and accuracy in our reporting.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Blockchain Accountant / Financial Controller to lead the accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of all digital asset activities within the group. You will bridge the gap between traditional finance and Web3, ensuring that every transaction involving cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, or tokenized assets is accurately recorded, compliant with local regulations (VARA/DMCC in UAE, MiCA in EU), and aligned with international accounting standards (IFRS).

This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional who understands both the debits/credits of accounting and the hashes/blocks of blockchain technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Asset Accounting: Record, classify, and reconcile all crypto transactions (purchases, sales, swaps, staking rewards, payments) in accordance with IFRS or relevant local GAAP.
• Reconciliation & Audit: Perform daily/monthly reconciliations between on-chain data (wallets, exchanges) and off-chain ledger systems (ERP/Xero/QuickBooks/SAP). Prepare schedules for external auditors.
• Tax Compliance: Calculate tax liabilities related to digital assets in multiple jurisdictions (UAE, CIS, EU). Ensure proper documentation for VAT/GST and corporate income tax purposes.
• Internal Controls: Develop and enforce internal policies for wallet management, transaction approval workflows, and private key security to prevent fraud and errors.
• Reporting: Generate accurate financial statements including digital asset holdings, unrealized gains/losses, and cash flow impacts for management and board review.
• Tool Implementation: Manage and optimize blockchain accounting tools (e.g., CoinTracker, Cryptio, Bitwave, Chainalysis) to automate data ingestion and reporting.
• Regulatory Liaison: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure accounting practices align with evolving regulations (VARA, AML/CFT guidelines).

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, ACCA, or CIA certification is highly preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial controlling, with at least 2 years specifically focused on cryptocurrency/digital assets in a corporate or institutional setting.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals (UTXO vs. Account-based models, ERC-20, TRC-20, Layer-2s). Proficiency in reading block explorers (Etherscan, Tronscan, etc.).
• Accounting Standards: Strong knowledge of IFRS (particularly IAS 38 Intangible Assets or IFRS 9 Financial Instruments) as applied to crypto assets.
• Tools: Experience with blockchain accounting software (CoinTracker, Cryptio, Bitwave, TokenTax) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies in complex transaction histories.
• Languages: Fluent English is required. Russian, Turkish, or Arabic is a significant advantage for regional reporting.
