Assess and analyse biosecurity risks, activate and implement plant and animal biosecurity initiatives, and strengthen the One Health system.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review biosecurity data collection, assess data quality and suggest improvements to ensure data accuracy.
- Identify potential plant, animal, and fisheries risks and evaluate them based on scientific foundations, conduct periodic analysis of health data for animal and plant diseases, and develop mitigation measures.
- Study and identify trends in biosecurity risks and escalate potential risks and highly critical matters to the National Biosecurity Committee to assist in targeting reduction-based activities.
- Monitor supporting information via the Geographic Information System (GIS) related to biosecurity to ensure the inclusion of all monitoring elements.
- Assume responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of ISO/IEC 17025 standard requirements in addition to the requirements of the relevant accreditation body.
- Supervise and follow up on the response to epidemiological and zoonotic disease notifications, and review and submit periodic reports.
- Review periodic reports of notifications and epidemiological outbreaks.
- Establish, develop, and follow up on performance indicators for the Section to measure the performance and development of the Section.
- Responsible for carrying out actions related to raising data quality and data maturity level.
- Responsible for updating procedures and processes related to the work of the organizational unit to address data issues and challenges.
- Be aware of the requirements of continuity management systems and controls for the business risk management system in ADAFSA.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Animal Health Sciences or a similar discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience within the field.
