Role overview
Support WSP's water-sector design team on river, flood, and drainage projects.
Projects span feasibility, planning, detailed design, and construction stages.
The position is based in Bengaluru, with work potentially requiring travel to offices and sites in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Deliver civil engineering river and flood schemes.
- Develop outline and detailed designs for hydraulic systems, flood defences, drainage, and ancillary structures.
- Support business cases and economic assessments for flood-protection works.
- Prepare contractor works information and specifications.
- Detail inspections of above- and below-ground assets.
- Work with local authorities and national environmental organizations.
- Support design and specification preparation under senior staff supervision.
- Undertake BIM technician tasks on drainage and related work as needed.
Requirements
- At least four years of consultancy experience.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent analytical science subject.
- Basic understanding and working knowledge of UK standards.
- Aptitude in Civil3D and proficiency in standard MS Office software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Additional software skills
- Bentley OpenRoads, Revit, and MicroStation proficiency would be advantageous.
