BIM Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM implementation for roads and infrastructure in multidisciplinary projects.
• Manage the assigned BIM/CAD team and quality assurance and control for models and drawings.
• Support BIM deliverables, model federation, clash reports, quality control plans, design reviews, and asset management BIM.
• Develop and manage 3D models for roads, highways, earthworks, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Perform clash detection among road alignments, utilities, and other discipline elements.
• Generate plans, profiles, cross-sections, and details from BIM models to client and company standards.
• Support BIM Execution Plan implementation for discipline deliverables.
• Lead BIM standards, modeling workflows, and digital delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot software issues and provide technical support.
• Create client-specific templates and libraries.
• Train and onboard BIM modelers as needed.
• Coordinate between the BIM Management team and project design team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 10 years of experience, including at least 3 years on roads, highways, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks, Navisworks, and other relevant BIM tools.
• Familiarity with international BIM standards such as ISO 19650 or similar.
• Experience in clash detection, model coordination, and multidisciplinary BIM workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Gulf experience and knowledge of Qatar infrastructure projects is advantageous.

Tools and methods

• The role uses Civil 3D and other relevant tools for infrastructure modeling.
• Relevant tools named in the qualifications include Autodesk Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Navisworks.
