BIM Coordinator

Overview

Responsibilities

• BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes across multi-disciplinary design and construction teams.
• The role ensures project deliverables are developed in compliance with BIM standards, client requirements, and industry best practices, while supporting collaboration between designers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Lead coordination meetings with project stakeholders to identify, track, and resolve design clashes.
• Manage model federation, clash detection, and reporting using BIM collaboration platforms.
• Ensure that BIM models are developed and maintained according to project execution plans and client requirements.
• Oversee model quality control, audits, and compliance with company BIM standards.
• Implement and enforce project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
• Maintain BIM documentation, protocols, and workflows aligned with ISO 19650 and company standards.
• Support digital handover and asset data integration for Facility Management (FM) or GIS systems.
• Work with Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other BIM-authoring software to review and coordinate models.
• Support design teams in model setup, worksharing, and troubleshooting.
• Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to BIM modelers and coordinators.
• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and contractors to align BIM deliverables with project needs.
• Use collaboration tools (e.g., BIM 360, ACC) to manage design data.
• Ensure correct use of BIM libraries, templates, and object standards.
• Prepare coordination reports, clash detection logs, and issue-tracking dashboards.
• Ensure timely submission of federated models, COBie data, drawings, and 4D/5D outputs (if required).
• Monitor and create dashboards reports for project BIM progress, risks, and compliance to BIM Manager / Project Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Min. 9 years of experience in BIM coordination, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong expertise in Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), & Power Bi.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 standards and BIM protocols.
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination (architecture, structural, MEP, civil, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with 4D (Synchro, Navisworks Manage) & 5D BIM is a plus.
• Familiarity with Dynamo, Python scripting, or other automation tools is an advantage.
