Role Description

The Behavior Therapy Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi.

The technician will support the implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of licensed or certified clinicians.

Responsibilities include working directly with individuals to teach new skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote independence in daily activities.

The role involves collecting and recording behavioral data, documenting session notes accurately, and sharing observations with the clinical team.

The Behavior Therapy Technician will collaborate with families and caregivers, follow safety and ethical guidelines, participate in team meetings and training, and contribute to a supportive, person-centered therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills to build rapport with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to follow structured behavior intervention plans, apply therapeutic techniques consistently, and adapt to client needs under supervision.
  • Attention to detail and basic data collection skills, including accurate documentation, observation, and record-keeping.
  • Emotional resilience, patience, and problem-solving skills for working with individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity in a diverse, inclusive healthcare setting.
  • High school diploma required; a diploma or degree in psychology, special education, behavior analysis, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in behavior therapy, special education, mental health, or related support roles is an advantage.
  • Willingness to complete relevant training and certifications (e.g., Registered Behavior Technician or equivalent, where applicable).
  • Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, including standing, moving, and engaging in activities with clients as needed.
