The BCaBA works under a Licensed Behavior Analyst and reports to the Clinical Director of the Autism Center.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and provide intensive ABA interventions for children with autism.
- Oversee development, training, and implementation of plans to reduce challenging behavior.
- Conduct initial and ongoing normed and criterion-based assessments; analyze results and recommend treatment.
- Provide monthly supervision for RBTs, prepare reports, and complete billing documentation.
- Train parents and provide ongoing support to assigned families.
- Monitor behavior and treatment plans, and coordinate with clients, families, and other professionals.
- Provide services with a warm, hopeful, trauma-informed approach that helps prevent victimization, abuse, or further trauma.
Education and experience
- Graduate of an accredited four-year college or university with a specialization in special education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field; alternatively, a graduate degree in one of those fields.
- At least one year of experience working with children with autism.
- Work under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Analyst.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions, handle irate individuals, and work irregular hours; evening or weekend hours may be required.
- TB test upon hire.
Physical requirements
Work may involve prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional team lifting up to 200 pounds.
Requires normal hearing and manual dexterity to operate common office equipment.
