Hilton Fairfax has 316 guest rooms, nine meeting rooms, and more than 10,000 square feet of event space.

Nova Grill, located in the hotel lobby, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with comfort dishes influenced by Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic.

Role overview

The Hilton Fairfax seeks an experienced and friendly Mixologist/Bartender for its restaurant team.

The role prepares and serves beverages and/or food to guests and supports guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve beverages and/or food to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.
  • Prepare beverages for servers to provide to guests.
  • Act as cashier for the lounge.
  • Know the menu and offerings to prepare drinks accurately and answer guest questions.

Compensation

  • Hourly rate is $12 per hour plus tips.

Qualifications

  • Know state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations concerning service to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card and have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverage service.
  • Have basic math skills for cash-register operation, making change, totaling checks and charges, and handling cash.
  • Have basic English writing and comprehension skills for requisitions, vouchers, customer inquiries, and simple instructions.
  • Have manual dexterity for garnishing, handling glassware and bottles, scooping ice, mixing drinks, and retrieving stock.
  • Be able to understand written product labels, operate beverage equipment such as a coffee maker, and remember and promote menu items.
  • Be able to transport up to 30 pounds and meet the listed lifting and frequent movement demands.
  • Constant standing and walking are required; frequent duties include twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
