Job Purpose
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service.
The role ensures a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment and maintains compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
& Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage preparation equipment.
- Ensure consistency in beverage quality, taste, and presentation.
- Follow standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Recommend menu items and respond to customer inquiries.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area, equipment, and utensils.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage products.
- Follow company policies and HACCP requirements where applicable.
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating stock using FIFO principles.
- Process customer payments and operate the POS system when required.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
