Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare specialty coffee, espresso drinks, cold beverages, shakes, juices, and other café drinks.
• Dial in espresso equipment and maintain consistent coffee quality.
• Prepare and serve simple café food and baked items; follow recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
• Take orders and use the POS system; maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café.
• Clean and maintain equipment, monitor stock, assist with inventory, and organize supplier deliveries.
• Follow food-safety and storage procedures and assist with opening and closing.
• Provide professional customer service and collaborate with the other team member during busy periods.

Requirements

• Previous café or barista experience is strongly preferred.
• Good knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and common specialty coffee drinks.
• Communicate effectively in English, maintain personal hygiene, work independently when needed, and handle busy periods efficiently.
• Willingness to live on Al Aliyah Island in accommodation provided by the employer is required.

Preferred experience

• Simple baking or café food preparation is an advantage.
• Experience with specialty coffee equipment and POS systems such as Foodics is an advantage; training can be provided.

Workplace and schedule

• Café-based work on Al Aliyah Island, Abu Dhabi.
• Availability during busy weekends and public holidays is important.
