What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java and Spring backend applications.
- Build microservices architectures for high-volume, mission-critical workloads and develop solutions on AWS.
- Design distributed systems for performance, reliability, resilience, and scalability.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Drive software design, testing, code quality, observability, and operational excellence.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and platform direction.
- Support applications through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
Essential skills and experience
- 3–8+ years of software engineering experience developing enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Framework experience, including Spring Boot.
- Experience designing distributed systems and microservices, and developing and deploying applications on AWS.
- Understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous processing.
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data modelling.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes; experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
