Backend Developer Intern with Devops Knowledge (Intership 6 months )In-Office Role

Role overview

Location and work mode

• Whitefield, Bangalore; mandatory work from office.
• Working hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, with alternate Saturdays working.

Stipend

• Monthly stipend: ₹20,000.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot backend applications, REST APIs and Microservices; implement business logic, validation and error handling.
• Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, database structures, SQL queries, CRUD operations, indexing and data consistency.
• Integrate backend services and APIs; test with Postman or similar tools and follow basic security practices.
• Use Git, build tools, Linux and Docker; assist with CI/CD, deployment, configuration, logs, monitoring and operational support.
• Collaborate with developers, QA and DevOps; participate in reviews, technical discussions and Agile/Scrum activities.
• Maintain code quality and documentation, complete assigned work on time and communicate progress.

Required skills

• Core Java, object-oriented programming, exception handling and Java Collections; multithreading familiarity is an advantage.
• Foundational Spring Boot, dependency injection, application configuration, Spring MVC and REST API development.
• Understanding of Microservices, JSON, HTTP methods and status codes.
• SQL and relational database concepts, PostgreSQL or MySQL, basic MongoDB/NoSQL, database design, queries, joins and CRUD.
• Basic Linux and terminal use; Git and GitHub/GitLab; Maven or Gradle; Docker, CI/CD, deployment, environment configuration and log analysis.
• Analytical reasoning, problem-solving, debugging, willingness to learn, communication and teamwork.

Education and eligibility

• B.E./B.Tech, MCA, BCA or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Final-year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, subject to availability and eligibility.
• Academic, personal or practical projects involving Java or backend development.
• Must be available for all six months and willing to work in the Whitefield office.

Preferred skills

• Exposure to Spring Data JPA or Hibernate, advanced Java, design patterns, Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD is advantageous.
• Docker Compose, container orchestration, Kubernetes, AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud exposure is advantageous.
• Nginx, reverse proxies, application servers, JUnit, Mockito, Postman, JWT, security, monitoring, logging, Agile/Scrum or SDLC familiarity is advantageous.

Internship experience

• Gain hands-on backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, databases and REST APIs.
• Learn Git, Linux, Docker, CI/CD, deployment workflows and enterprise software practices with engineering mentorship.
• Work with development, QA and DevOps teams and gain exposure to Agile projects.
• Consideration for full-time employment depends on performance and organizational requirements; it is not guaranteed.
