The Role
BJAK is hiring backend engineers to build the core systems behind its AI Neobank app.
The role focuses on reliable APIs, workflows, and financial product infrastructure that can scale across markets, partners, and millions of users.
What You Will Own
- Build services and APIs for onboarding, accounts, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, KYC, and risk flows.
- Design reliable systems for customer transactions, operational workflows, and future financial products.
- Integrate internal systems, financial partners, payment providers, AI services, and third-party platforms.
- Own reliability, security, latency, observability, data integrity, and incident handling.
- Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to launch features safely.
- Simplify existing flows, remove manual work, and automate repeatable processes.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong backend engineering experience in production systems.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, jobs, events, and integrations.
- Experience building services for real customers or internal operations at meaningful scale.
- Strong debugging, reliability, security, and data-quality mindset.
- Ability to balance speed, correctness, scalability, and maintainability.
- Fintech, payments, banking, wallet, KYC, fraud, or risk experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong English communication is required, and candidates must already be based in the UK.
Interview Process
- The process includes an online assessment or practical task, a technical interview, and a CEO or final round.
