Backend Developer

Role overview

Development and collaboration

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using C# .NET or Python, producing efficient, scalable, maintainable code.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions with frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement security and data protection measures.
• Write documented code and unit tests, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers.
• Manage web servers and configure services; collaborate with data scientists and analysts.
• Assist with migration from monolithic systems to microservices architecture.

Cloud and infrastructure

• Implement and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS and automate cloud infrastructure provisioning with Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, networking, and resource allocation; deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads.
• Develop, package, and maintain containerized applications for portability and consistency across environments.

Technical qualifications

• At least 5 years of backend development experience and proficiency in either C# .NET or Python.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices; understanding of object-oriented programming and SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git; hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and working with cloud-native architecture and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Hands-on containerization experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman, including Kubernetes orchestration and workload management.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools; understanding of cloud networking concepts such as VPCs and gateways.

Education and collaboration

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar in software development.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration abilities; able to work effectively in a multicultural, multinational team.
• Willingness and ability to learn new languages or technologies.
