AVID Tutor (26-27)

Under the supervision of the classroom teacher, facilitate small group, student-led sessions leading to critical thinking, problem solving, and deeper content-area knowledge.

• Provide guidance and direction to a small group of students as they use specific inquiry based strategies to help one another learn more about a particular subject
• Attend 16 hours of AVID Tutor Training annually
• Serve as a college role model to junior high and high school students
• Under the supervision of the classroom teacher grade items specific to the AVID tutorial process
• Collaborate with other tutors to devise effective strategies for student grouping

• Currently enrolled college student
• Strong academic skills
• Experience in advanced level high school coursework
• Ability to work well with others
