About This Role
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audio Visual (AV) Specialist to join our team. The AV Specialist is responsible for ensuring high-quality audio and visual experiences during meetings, events, and conferences. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting complex AV systems, including video conferencing (Teams/Zoom), sound systems, display technologies, and control systems
Key Responsibilities
- System Setup & Operation: Set up, configure, test, and operate audio-visual equipment—including projectors, displays, microphones, soundboards, lighting, and video switching equipment—for corporate events, town halls, and daily meetings.
- Event Support: Provide on-site, real-time technical support during live events and high-profile video conferences to ensure flawless execution.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical faults related to AV, CATV, and IPTV systems in real-time, minimizing downtime.
- Video Conferencing: Manage virtual and hybrid meeting technology, specifically Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams, and Webex systems.
- Maintenance & Inventory: Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration, and cleaning of AV hardware. Maintain accurate inventory logs of AV equipment.
- User Training: Provide training and documentation to staff and clients on the proper operation of conference room technology.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with IT, facilities, and external vendors to integrate AV systems with existing network infrastructure.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in AV technical support, event production, or similar roles.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of signal flow (audio/video), video switching, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, QSC).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Audio Visual Technology, Media Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications: [Optional but Preferred] Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
- Troubleshooting: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly under pressure.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, as required by event schedules.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with AV over IP technologies (Dante, NVX).
- Experience with lighting control systems and basic lighting operation.
