Role purpose

Audit delivery

• Undertake work allocated by the assignment leader and report progress at daily meetings.
• Attend briefings and understand the audit plan.
• Complete work within budget and maintain a professional, business-like approach.
• Obtain and document sufficient and appropriate audit evidence in the audit file.

Audit sections and analysis

• Complete fixed assets and bank sections.
• Document accounting systems and complete systems testing.
• Perform substantive testing on profit and loss analysis, including tax requirements.
• Develop working knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and current accounting standards.

Professional development

• Pass relevant professional examinations.
• Advise on basic accounting issues as knowledge develops.
• Follow Institute and internal ethical guidelines.
• Accept responsibility for work, follow up on completion and act on feedback.

Education requirements

• Minimum 2.2 degree, attained or expected.
• Minimum 112 UCAS points from three A Levels graded A* to C, excluding general studies, or equivalent.
• Minimum five GCSEs graded 9 to 6 or A* to B, including Maths and English Language, or equivalent.

• Commercial awareness, computer literacy, teamwork, communication and flexibility.
• Strong organisation, systematic working, initiative, problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
