Asst / Deputy General Manager - Coding

Position and location

Experience and candidate profile

• Requires 12+ years in medical coding operations, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing large coding teams.
• Preferred experience includes managing 100+ coders and multiple leadership layers, including team leads, managers, and auditors.
• Strong exposure to client-facing operations and delivery management is preferred.
• Experience with transitions, ramp-ups, governance, quality management, and operational leadership is preferred.
• CPC, CCS, CRC, or CIC certification is preferred.

Preferred specialty exposure

• Preferred specialties include Profee Surgery / Endoscopy, E&M + Surgery, E&M IP, E&M OP, and ED Profee.
• Additional preferred exposure includes denials, IVR, observation, ancillaries, radiation oncology, and pathology.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large-scale medical coding operations for US healthcare clients and drive productivity, quality, utilization, accuracy, and SLA adherence.
• Manage multispecialty coding operations across surgery, E&M, ED, IVR, denials, observation, pathology, radiation oncology, and ancillaries.
• Own client governance, escalations, MBRs, QBRs, and stakeholder management.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, succession planning, and capability development.
• Drive operational excellence, process improvement, automation, and transformation initiatives.
• Manage revenue targets, forecasting, capacity planning, utilization, and operational profitability.
• Collaborate with Quality, Training, Transition, Technology, and Business Development teams to deliver business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CMS, payer-specific guidelines, and regulatory standards.
