Associate Manager, Operations Cost Accounting

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Manage site budgets and financial performance, focusing on production volumes, conversion costs, and cost savings.
• Prepare performance reporting and timely business commentary.
• Provide forecast updates through S&OP and analyze absorption, expenses, material and efficiency variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare capital investment proposals, quantify costs and benefits, and conduct ROI analysis.
• Support management approvals, monitor approved project execution, and improve capital-spending tracking.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in equipment productivity, resource allocation, waste reduction, and sourcing.
• Improve internal controls under the Sarbanes-Oxley framework, especially manufacturing and inventory controls.
• Act as contact for internal and external auditors, implement audit recommendations, and support statutory reporting.

Required experience and qualifications

• University degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Management and 5–7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Excellent accountancy understanding; previous US GAAP exposure is ideal.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SCALA, and SAP/BPC.

Preferred experience and skills

• Fluency in English is preferred.
• Integrity, analytical and communication skills, strategic thinking, collaboration, initiative, and ability to influence cross-functional teams are preferred.
• FMCG and supply-chain experience is a plus but is not essential.
