Main Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including scheduling shipments, arranging pickups and deliveries, and managing freight documentation.
- Track shipments and monitor delivery progress to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve any issues or delays.
- Assist with the negotiation of shipping rates, contracts, and service agreements with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Provide support to internal teams, including procurement, warehouse operations, and customer service, to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping documents, invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Assist with the resolution of logistics-related issues or customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in logistics operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to logistics and supply chain management.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in logistics operations and best practices.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of logistics policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Support the implementation of technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and freight tracking software, to enhance visibility and tracking of shipments.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management to support the overall objectives of the logistics department.
Education
High School or Diploma in supply chain management, BA or a related field
