Associate Legal Specialist - Litigation (Qatarization)

Job Purpose

Roles And Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day litigation matters by maintaining case files, tracking milestones, and ensuring deadlines are diarised and met under senior supervision.
• Conduct legal research and prepare drafts of internal notes, chronologies, issue summaries, and routine correspondence, escalating risks when necessary.
• Assist with document production and evidence management, including collection, indexing, and organisation of pleadings, exhibits, and disclosure materials.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Finance, Customer Care, Safety, Compliance, Procurement, Operations) to gather information and align on next steps.
• Support external counsel management, including coordination, documentation, and maintaining logs of advice and deliverables.
• Assist with invoicing and budget tracking by reviewing invoices, ensuring compliance, and monitoring spend against budget.
• Prepare reports and dashboards on litigation status, risks, timelines, and costs, ensuring accuracy in case management systems.
• Contribute to SOPs, templates, and process improvements by updating documentation and incorporating lessons learned.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality, privilege protocols, and internal governance requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB, JD, or equivalent) with 1–3 years of post-qualification or relevant litigation experience in legal research, drafting, and document review.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, or eligibility for admission; in-house experience is an advantage but not required.
• Proficiency in standard office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with legal databases and case management systems is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate, and professional legal and business correspondence.
• Well-developed organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple matters under supervision.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with senior lawyers, internal stakeholders, and external counsel.
• Professional interpersonal skills, demonstrating discretion, tact, cultural sensitivity, and sound judgment when dealing with colleagues, clients, and third parties.
