Role overview
ICON is seeking an experienced Associate Landscape Architect for its Landscape Architecture team.
The role contributes to landscape, public realm, mixed-use, hospitality, and destination projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider region.
The associate supports multiple projects through project management, design direction, coordination, technical leadership, and team mentoring.
The role contributes to digital delivery through BIM, AI-enabled workflows, and platforms such as Vantagepoint.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver landscape architecture and public realm projects from concept design through construction support.
- Maintain design quality and technical excellence and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
- Manage project programmes, deliverables, resources, budgets, reporting, and day-to-day coordination.
- Build relationships with clients, consultants, stakeholders, and authorities; lead meetings, reviews, workshops, and presentations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across landscape architecture, engineering, planning, BIM, and project management.
- Mentor Landscape Architects, Graduate Landscape Architects, and BIM professionals.
- Promote digital technologies, BIM workflows, AI-enabled tools, and Vantagepoint to improve project delivery.
Experience and capabilities
- Experience delivering landscape architecture, public realm, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, infrastructure, and masterplanning projects.
- Strong design, technical, project-management, coordination, client-facing, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Understanding of project planning, resource management, commercial performance, UAE and GCC planning processes, and authority requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; experience mentoring junior team members.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation.
- Experience with Rhino (Grasshopper), SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, and/or D5 Render.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, BIM-enabled environments, Microsoft Office, and project-planning tools.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Professional chartership or accreditation (CMLI, ASLA, AILA, LI, or equivalent) is advantageous; UAE and/or KSA project experience is preferred.
Digital and design tools
- The role requires strong understanding of digital design and project-delivery workflows.
- Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platforms, ArcGIS, QGIS, Land F/X or equivalent, and AI-enabled design tools are desirable.
