About the Role

Key Accountabilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain power-market models and datasets across North America, Europe, and APAC using PLEXOS and Aurora.
• Support market research, model updates, analysis, and benchmarking.
• Visualize and analyze production-cost model results using Power BI and Excel.
• Create, update, run, compare, and troubleshoot power-market models and their outputs.
• Research, process, and maintain energy data from providers, industry publications, regulators, and web sources.

Foundation Skills

• Experience with energy market modeling; high numeracy, computer, and web literacy.
• Basic understanding of energy economics and power-market fundamentals.
• Knowledge of power plant and natural gas economics, power systems, gas supply chains, operations research or optimization, statistics, and energy markets.
• Knowledge and experience with transmission planning and nodal market modeling, including generator mapping, N-x contingencies, infeasibilities, and power-flow analysis.
• Ability to work autonomously, complete assignments, solve problems, and learn new techniques.
• Organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and committed to accurate, high-quality work.
• PLEXOS is preferred; Aurora, PROMOD, or similar production-cost modeling software is also cited.

Experience and Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience with energy modeling and power-market analysis.
• Knowledge of or experience in several North American, European, or Asian power markets.
• Experience creating and analyzing energy datasets for power models.
• Experience at a market operator, project developer, or utility in planning or commercial operations is an asset.
• Knowledge of one or more tools: PLEXOS, Aurora, PROMOD, PSO, Market Analytics, or PROSYM.
• Strong organizational skills and familiarity with Agile/Sprint best practices; expert skills using Excel, Power BI, and similar tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems; transmission is preferred.
