Associate Director, Veeva Platform Engineering Lead

Role overview

Work arrangement

• Hybrid arrangement with at least three days onsite and two days remote; candidates are expected to live within commuting distance of the Hyderabad office.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering delivery, roadmap initiatives, backlog commitments, and measurable execution plans.
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary engineering and specialist team; coordinate with product, business, Vault, vendor, and matrix partners.
• Establish reusable standards, integration patterns, release practices, and configuration best practices across Vault domains.
• Provide technical leadership across Veeva implementations and integrations, including APIs, MuleSoft, event-driven architecture, and OAuth.
• Advance platform security through MFA, authentication modernization, risk remediation, and technical-debt reduction.
• Promote AI-enabled engineering, automation, continuous improvement, and effective vendor delivery.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related discipline.
• 10 years in enterprise software delivery, platform engineering, solution engineering, or technology leadership, including five years leading technical teams and delivery organizations.
• Deep expertise across multiple Veeva Vault domains and the broader multi-Vault platform ecosystem.
• Strong enterprise integration experience with Veeva APIs, MuleSoft, event-driven architecture, API-led connectivity, and modern integration patterns.
• Experience with OAuth, authentication modernization, enterprise security, and GxP-regulated compliance, validation, quality, and operational risk.
• Strong stakeholder communication and influence; Agile delivery, backlog, prioritization, demand-management, and roadmap experience.
• Ability to combine strategic and hands-on technical leadership; multiple Vault-domain rollout strategy experience.
• Veeva Vault Platform Administrator or Vault Development/Platform Developer certification, or demonstrable equivalent hands-on experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Platform modernization, transformation, or engineering excellence experience; AI-assisted software engineering and GenAI knowledge.
• ITIL, cloud platforms, DevOps, enterprise architecture, scaling teams in global matrix organizations, or pharmaceutical/life sciences experience.
• Vault-specific Veeva certifications and Veeva Vault Java SDK experience.
