Role overview

AHP is hiring an Associate Director, Analytics and Data Products to build and ship curated datasets, pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and automated reporting.

This is a hands-on senior practitioner role that runs the analytics and delivery domain, reports to the Director of Data Practice, and works with the Chief Data Officer on strategy.

AHP’s distributed, project-based work supports concurrent federal, state, and local client engagements with differing data needs.

About AHP

AHP is a consulting and research firm specializing in health and behavioral health, technical assistance and training, system and program development, resource development and dissemination, and research and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Build curated datasets, transformation pipelines, semantic models, and reporting layers for enterprise and client-facing data products.
  • Deliver scoped engagements end to end, defining the decision a product supports, managing build plans, and tracking delivery.
  • Implement consistent metric definitions, source traceability, and pipeline validation as enterprise reporting standards.
  • Run production refresh cycles, access, version control, documentation, and transitions of legacy and consultant-built reports into maintained products.
  • Create reusable dashboard and reporting templates and custom products when templates are insufficient.
  • Coordinate data engineering with Digital Solutions and analyst and BI resources assigned to Data Office work.
  • Contribute Data Office build work to AI initiatives led by Digital Solutions; AI requests use the standard intake process.
  • Set reporting standards with the Methods and Standards Lead.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent experience building and running analytics delivery.
  • Strong SQL and production data transformation skills using dbt or a comparable tool.
  • Power BI or Domo experience at the semantic model and dataset level, not only the visual layer.
  • Experience with cloud warehouse or lakehouse platforms; AHP currently uses Redshift and Databricks.
  • Track record delivering actionable analytics under deadline and across stakeholders with different priorities.
  • Analytic and methods fluency to implement definitions correctly and recognize analysis that does not hold.
  • Experience with at least one of R, Python, Stata, or SAS.
  • Ability to lead technical work and set standards for staff who do not report to the role; client-facing credibility.
  • Behavioral health, health, or federal and state contract data experience is a plus.

Compensation

  • Published annual base salary range is $125,000–$145,000; actual salary varies based on factors including location, experience, and education.
  • Additional rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.

Benefits

  • Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with a 3% match, student loan repayment assistance, employer-paid life and disability insurance, and paid time off.
