Role overview
The Director provides academic and strategic leadership for the MA in Human Rights and Multi-level Governance.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Indore requiring regular presence for academic, administrative, and outreach activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee program design, delivery, and continuous improvement; coordinate curriculum development and supervise teaching.
- Align the program with international human-rights standards and best practices.
- Manage external partnerships and support internships, career placement, and the alumni network.
- Lead faculty meetings, mentor teaching and administrative staff, and represent the program in public and institutional forums.
- Oversee quality assurance and accreditation.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic background in Human Rights, Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field; PhD or equivalent preferred.
- Academic leadership, program management, or department administration experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of human-rights frameworks, multi-level governance, and policy-oriented research and practice.
- Curriculum design, teaching supervision, assessment, and quality assurance capabilities.
- Partnership-building experience with civil society, international organizations, public institutions, and private-sector stakeholders.
- Ability to support employability through internships, research projects, and career development.
- Communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, strategic planning, organizational, and budget oversight skills.
- Commitment to gender equality, diversity, inclusion, and non-discrimination.
- Ability to work on-site in Indore, conduct outreach, and represent the program at events.
