Join the Operations Directorate in the East as an Assistant Project Manager.
Support management and delivery of a regional portfolio of projects and oversee performance of project teams, external contractors and consultants.
The role is based from the Bedford office.
Responsibilities
- Support complex projects and manage allocated regional projects through the lifecycle from design to introduction into service.
- Review delivery performance, resolve issues and prepare project business cases.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with project managers, stakeholders, suppliers, contractors and internal teams.
- Apply quality management, governance, technical, customer-service and health and safety standards.
- Assist with programme management, reporting and risk management against budgets.
- Support sound financial and contractual practices and account for health and safety throughout project planning and delivery.
About you
- Recognised qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or significant civil engineering project-delivery experience.
- Understanding of project management practices and controls.
- Experience reviewing project plans and detailed stage plans with delivery partners.
- Experience managing relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of NEC contract management.

Salary
- External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale; current employees will be appointed under the established pay policy.
