Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related field from an accredited institution, publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and experience teaching undergraduate or graduate students. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Post-doctoral training in a relevant field, procurement of research funding, and demonstration of success with teaching upper-level quantitative courses and mentoring students of all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Candidates are expected to establish a strong, externally funded research program and to teach and develop quantitative courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Examples include statistical ecology, biometry, Bayesian statistics, mathematical modeling, bioinformatics, and data science for biologists.
