Main Scope

Design and development of AHUs and FCUs, conceptual design studies, Design and evaluate components of AHUs and FCUs, Prototyping & Testing, Product Optimization & Value Engineering, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Product Documentation & Compliance, Market Analysis, product development lifecycle, software development, Cost & Time Management.

Education Level

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with minimum 7 years of experience in product development within the HVAC equipment industry, particularly with AHUs and FCUs

Knowledge

• HVAC systems (specifically Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)) and their components such as fans, heat exchangers, filters, ducts, and coils
• Product testing and prototype development
• Strong understanding of HVAC performance criteria, energy efficiency standards, and regulatory compliance.

Skills & Experience

• Strong background in mechanical engineering with expertise in designing HVAC-related systems, particularly air handling units and fan coil units
• Knowledge of HVAC system components, including, fans, coils, ducting, filters, and controls
• Ability to select and integrate HVAC components to optimize energy efficiency, airflow, temperature regulation, and noise levels
• Expertise in selecting materials for HVAC system components, considering factors such as durability, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness
• Experience working with materials commonly used in HVAC systems, such as galvanized steel, aluminum, copper, and stainless steel

Main Performance Areas

Duties, Responsibilities & Authorities

• Product Design and Development of Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs
• Design analyses and simulations to evaluate performance, thermal, mechanical, and airflow efficiency, ensuring the product meets the required performance specifications.
• Development and testing of prototype units, with results from performance and regulatory compliance tests.
• Technical documentation, including product catalogue, user manuals, assembly instructions, product technical data and operational guidelines.
• Value Engineering and Continuous Improvement for design optimizations, energy efficiency, Cost Analysis, and manufacturability
• Cross-Functional Collaboration with the manufacturing team, procurement teams, quality assurance, sales and marketing team.
• Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and customer needs, ensuring designs meet market demands and remain competitive
• Product certification according to regional and international standards
• Software development
• Material management and component specifications
• BOQ Analysis and cost optimization
