The Pastry Assistant supports the Pastry Chef in preparing, baking, and presenting a variety of pastries, breads, and desserts.
This role ensures high-quality production, maintains cleanliness, and follows all food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings for pastries and baked goods.
- Support the Pastry Chef in baking, decorating, and assembling desserts.
- Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes and instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and finished products.
- Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines at all times.
- Assist in inventory control and report shortages of ingredients or supplies.
- Help with daily production tasks and special orders as needed.
- Maintain consistency and quality in all pastry items.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
