Assistant Manager Purchase

Role purpose

Procurement and sourcing

• Purchase MRO items, maintenance consumables, mechanical spares, electrical and instrumentation items, safety supplies, packing materials, tools, stationery and other plant consumables.
• Procure plant services including maintenance, fabrication, manpower, transportation, housekeeping, AMC, calibration and repair.
• Develop reliable vendors, seek alternative and local suppliers, obtain and evaluate quotations, and maintain vendor records and performance history.
• Negotiate prices and commercial terms; compare historical and market prices; identify cost reduction, bulk purchasing and alternate-sourcing opportunities.
• Prepare purchase orders against approved requisitions and negotiated terms, specifying relevant material or service details, quantities, rates, taxes, delivery, freight, payment, warranty and quality terms.
• Follow up on orders and deliveries, maintain pending-order tracking, prioritize urgent needs and coordinate material receipt and documentation with Stores.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Stores, Administration, Finance and QA/QC.
• Coordinate with Stores and Maintenance on critical and frequently used items, stock levels, reorder points, consumption patterns and procurement quantities.

Role requirements

• Experienced OPEX procurement professional able to manage procurement activities for plant operations.
• Able to coordinate user requirements and clarify technical specifications and commercial needs before ordering.
