The role of
Assistant Facilities and Support Manager
- is a key position in ensuring an optimal school environment by supervising the maintenance of school buildings and other facilities, supporting school activities and events, and ensuring that all operational services are delivered at the highest level of quality in alignment with institutional accreditation and evaluation standards.
- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily walkthroughs across buildings, courtyards, and playgrounds to identify any technical issues and coordinate with the technical teams within the Facilities Department to promptly address and resolve them.
- Follow up on the implementation of scheduled preventive maintenance plans in coordination with the technical teams for all school facilities and assets, including but not limited to: surveillance cameras, HVAC systems, electrical systems, school furniture, and plumbing.
- Develop a cleaning schedule, assign cleaning staff, and oversee daily cleaning operations in all buildings to ensure high standards of hygiene, health, and safety are maintained.
- Monitor daily attendance of cleaning staff, ensure their adherence to personal hygiene and appropriate appearance (grooming), and handle any interpersonal issues that may arise among them.
- Ensure adequate stock of all cleaning supplies; when needed, prepare and submit supply requests to the Facilities Manager in advance of depletion.
- Coordinate with school division leaders and the Activities Department to stay informed of upcoming events and activities that require facilities support.
- Coordinate with technical teams in the Facilities Department to provide the required logistical support for the execution of school events and activities, and be present during the events to offer immediate support when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Safety and Security Team in the implementation of emergency, evacuation, and safety procedures within the school.
- Participate in institutional evaluations and provide accurate data as required.
- Prepare regular reports documenting the performance of facilities, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Contribute to institutional improvement plans (School Improvement Plans) related to infrastructure and operational support.
