Overview

As an Assistant Engineering Manager, you play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering Manager in overseeing the hotel's engineering operations.

You assist in managing the department, ensuring the smooth functioning of the physical infrastructure, and contribute to creating a safe and efficient environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the engineering team, providing guidance and support to achieve operational objectives.
  • Assist in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules, addressing repairs promptly, and ensuring minimal equipment downtime.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in managing the department budget, monitoring expenses, and optimizing cost-effectiveness.
  • Supervise engineering colleagues, conduct training sessions, and contribute to performance assessments for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with other hotel departments, offering technical assistance for events and coordinating on cross-functional projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promoting a secure working environment for both staff and guests.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, implementing corrective actions to mitigate disruptions to hotel operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment, repairs, and maintenance activities to support reporting and auditing requirements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, contributing ideas for departmental enhancements.
  • Contribute to evaluating and implementing measures to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in line with the hotel's goals.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for equipment servicing, repairs, and procurement, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist in maintaining high standards for the physical facilities, contributing to overall guest satisfaction with a focus on quality, safety, and functionality.
  • Uphold environmental, health, and safety standards in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Adhere to the company’s environmental, health, and safety procedures and policies.
