Summary
Assists in providing medical care in the field of Critical Care, and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Hospital s policies and procedures
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
- Clinical Responsibilities
- Assists the Consultant in providing required patient care and management in the field of Critical Care, in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by the Hospital.
- Provides high-quality patient care in all aspects of Critical Care according to his/her approved clinical privileges.
- Provides consultation (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request and responds in a timely manner within the prescribed timeframe as outlined in the Hospital spolicy.
- Responsible for the timely completion, competencies, accuracy and legibility of the medical record.
- Provideson-call service and ensures availability and response time within theprescribed timeframe in accordance with Hospital policy.
- Conducts dailymorning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge. Ensures that dischargeorders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
- Performs other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty, as assigned.
- *Academic Responsibilities
- Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to interns, residents and fellows as assigned.
- Participatesin department s educational activities and training programs of the department.Partakes in national and international medical conferences.
- Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Education
Graduation from a medical school in good standing, completion of required period of postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.
Experience Required
Two (2) years of training in specialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience required.
