Role overview
Assistant Chef preparing meals for up to 65 care-home residents and supporting catering for events and celebrations.
The role is a 38-hour contract, with shifts from 07:30 to 17:30, no late nights and alternate weekends.
Experience and knowledge
- Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and evening meal service.
- Care-home or similar experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Knowledge of specialised diets and service delivery.
- Ability to contribute to and develop a four-week menu with the Head Chef.
- Ability to complete records demonstrating adherence to legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Make menus accessible so residents can make daily food choices.
- Provide sufficient food that meets medical, ethnic and personal dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensure meals are nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, timely and served in the correct sequence.
- Follow company HACCP procedures; maintain kitchen hygiene, infection control, cleaning rotas and records.
- Follow chef instructions, help with washing up when required, and support the team in producing food to standard.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is £13.30 per hour.
- Benefits include 5.6 weeks of annual leave, paid DBS, uniform, paid training, pension, wellbeing programmes and career development opportunities.

Bradshaw Manor is a Lovett Care home in Rhyl providing residential, dementia, nursing, respite and palliative care.
