Artificial Intelligence Engineer (Multiple Levels)

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Translate mission-user requirements into AI and machine learning solution designs.
• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI solutions in secure, classified environments.
• Develop LLM, NLP, computer vision, and agentic AI applications.
• Ingest, transform, and curate complex datasets with data engineering partners.
• Build automated ML pipelines using Python, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and model evaluation.
• Perform A/B testing, benchmarking, and production monitoring of deployed models.
• Integrate AI tools into existing mission systems to reduce manual analyst effort.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols, accreditation requirements, and intelligence community standards.
• Present technical findings, model metrics, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and deploying production AI solutions supporting mission operations.
• Experience developing LLM, NLP, computer vision, and agentic AI applications with Python and automated ML pipelines.
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, model evaluation, A/B testing, and production monitoring.
• US citizenship and an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph are required.
• Junior and senior level education and experience combinations are accepted as specified in the posting.
• Travel up to 10% within the United States is required, along with the ability to lift 30 pounds, walk, bend, and drive.

Level Qualifications

Technical Skills

Desired Qualifications

• Prior counterterrorism mission experience is desired.
• Experience with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence or an intelligence community department or agency is desired.

Compensation

• Junior-level compensation is listed as USD 90,700 to USD 141,775.
• Senior-level compensation is listed as USD 109,800 to USD 171,525.
• The posted overall compensation range is USD 90,700 to USD 171,525 per year.
